I Don't Know You Yet

I don't know you yet.

But I know these things:

I will love you more fiercely than what I can even understand or fathom right now.

I will complement your entire being, and you will mine.

I will love your quiet nature, because of the confidence and peace it will bring me.

And because I will know there is so very much happening inside you-entire worlds being built.

And I will love you even more as I begin to understand that many of them are being built for me.

We will have a language all our own, one the world has not yet heard and will never hear again.

I will roll to your side of the bed in the middle of the night and study every detail of you until I memorize you like my favorite poem.

And I promise to re-memorize you every single day.

I am expecting you to never stay the same, just as I need you to expect that about me.

And you will.

I will let you in on every single thing that holds me together.

And I will adjust and move and reshape and open to everything that holds you together until I don't know which is mine and which is yours.

And I will love you more fiercely than what I can even understand or fathom right now.

I don't know know you yet.

But I'm ready for the adventure of a lifetime to start.

Because it'll be that.

If I can guess anything about our future, it'll be that, my darling.
