Getting to Know Us

Julie:

  1. Beach wedding or mountain wedding? Mountain wedding.
  2. Watch Star Wars, or Star Trek? Star Trek, Next Generation.
  3. Read on a Kindle or paperback book? Paperback.
  4. Go to a play or musical? I love both...probably musical.
  5. Go to the theater or a movie? Theater.
  6. Hike or bike? Backpack!
  7. Wear jeans or chinos? Jeans or what?...Jeans.
  8. Is it “pop” or “soda”? Soft drink.
  9. Tacos or pizza: Pizza! Arris Pizza, or Pizza by the Chef--best in the area.
  10. Crash with friends or stay in a hotel? Hotel.
  11. Visit Europe or Mexico? Europe.
  12. Vacation in Hawaii or Alaska, and why? Alaska, because I haven’t been yet.
  13. Go skiing or snowshoeing? Snowshoeing...but only in very warm climates.
  14. Travel by plane, train, or automobile? I like them all for different reasons. But, plane.
  15. Enjoy a houseboat or speed boat? Houseboat.
  16. Go climbing or zip lining? Climbing.
  17. Go to a comedy club or dance club? Comedy club.
  18. Have a night out or evening in? Night out for dinner.
  19. Watch TV or read a book? Watch TV. The Voice!
  20. Go canoeing or waterskiing? Canoeing.
  21. Camp in an RV or stay in a tent? Stay in a tent.
  22. Use Facebook or Twitter? Facebook. But I think I could really get into Twitter.
  23. Choose a free trip or money? Money! To make my own trip!
  24. Win the lottery or find your perfect job? I would use the lottery winnings to do my passion.
  25. Swim in a pool or the ocean? Pool.
  26. Travel by sailboat or cruise ship? Cruise ship.
  27. Watch sports or play sports? Watch sports.
  28. Play dodgeball or kickball? No.

Meredith:

  3. Read on a Kindle or paperback book? Paperback! I love to feel the pages!
  4. Go to a play or musical? Musical.
  5. Go to the theater or a movie? Tough. Probably movie because there are more elements happening.
  6. Hike or bike? Hike!
  7. Wear jeans or chinos? Jeans.
  8. Is it “pop” or “soda”? Soda
  9. Tacos or pizza: Tacos; good ones--Barrio Queen in Scottsdale, AZ!
  10. Crash with friends or stay in a hotel? Hotel! Of course!

  12. Vacation in Hawaii or Alaska, and why? Hawaii. Because they have the best pineapple I’ve ever tasted.
  13. Go skiing or snowshoeing? I haven’t been skiing! I’d love to try.

  23. Choose a free trip or money? Money so that I can book my own trip!

  25. Swim in a pool or the ocean? Ocean--body surf!
  26. Travel by sailboat or cruise ship? Sailboat. It’s more chill.
  27. Watch sports or play sports? No.
  28. Play dodgeball or kickball? Also, no.

Thoughts on Christmas

As Christmas neared this year, we pulled out the one and only box of decorations we had left, and wondered whether to even bother opening it. Earlier this year, in preparation to eventually downsize from our home, we sold every single last bit of decorations that we had used to cover the 6700 square feet of venue space these last seven years.

The Vision I Can't Unsee

If you’ve read Meredith’s 13-part Journey, you’ve no doubt picked up on some of our life adventures. However, it’s imperative I write about the journey from my perspective as well. But, where to start? Present moment? Okay. It’s 12/30/16 as I’m writing this, and now 1/1/17 as I’m posting. I’m "loaded for BEAR!"

A German Christmas Story

The brightest, most memorable Christmas holidays for me took place in the early 1990’s while we were stationed in Germany with the US Army. Siegelbach, our destination village, is situated some 90 miles southwest of Frankfurt and within a brief thirty-minute drive down the Autobahn into Luxembourg and France.
